Electric Range
We have provided an electric glass top range for your meal prep during your stay. If you are unfamiliar with this type of range please read some important details below.
Glass cooktop will be hot: Unlike induction style cooktops this unit uses a heating element below the glass to produce heat. While operating the element will glow red. However, the surface will remain hot and can burn after the cooktop is turned off. Please note the Hot Surface indicator light on the control panel. When that light is on the surface will be hot.
Cookware: Please only use supplied cookware. This cooktop requires flat bottom with a thick cooking surface to properly cook. Because of the thickness of the cookware bottoms the pans and skillets may take slightly longer to reach desired temperature than what you are used to.
Dual sized heating elements: The front two burners have two different usable sizes to accommodate different sized cookware. Please note the element size you are setting to on the control knob for these two burners.
Cleanup: Once the Hot Surface indicator light has turned off please wipe any spills and splatters from the cooktop surface, especially prior to cooking your next meal. If all residue does not come off don't stress, our cleaning crew will use the appropriate cleaners to remove an remaining residue once you depart.

No metal: Please do not place any metal or aluminum materials inside the microwave. This will destroy the unit and pose a fire risk.
No Plastic: Please do not use any of the supplied plastic dishes or cups in the microwave. Microwaves cause plastics to breakdown and can leach those materials into your food. Only plastics on prepackaged microwavable foods should be placed in the microwave but please follow cooking instructions printed on those products.
Cover foods and liquids: When reheating or cooking in the microwave please cover your food or liquid to prevent splatter. You may use paper towels which you will find on the counter or parchment paper or wax paper which you will find in the pantry cabinet to the left of the refrigerator.

Fan: The microwave features a fan to help filter smoke and cooking odors while cooking on the stovetop. The fan does not exhaust outside but rather recirculates the air after passing through a charcoal filter. Feel free to use as needed.
